by Ryan Gibson

When you smile my every nerve is raw
And the light you cast is making my heart thaw
And the ice cracks in all directions
Like veins branching off to carry new life.

Once I thought I might've been in love
But now I know you're the girl I've been dreaming of
These fervent hopes may crash down
And in tides of change I'll watch them drown.

But I can't seem to wait for tomorrow
And the stubborn hands of time just move so slow
But I can wait forever
You are beyond worth it.

These words are limping failures
That dance upon the page so lamely
Turning into cripples flailing
When all that matters is that you know
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you.
